Home Savings CalculatorHome Savings Calculator

Practical tools. Numbers you can check.

We build calculators for the two questions every homeowner runs into: what will this project cost, and what will this house cost to run?

Why this site exists

Most cost calculators online exist to generate a lead. You put in your postcode, you get a range, and a salesperson calls you. Ours exist to give you a figure you can take into a conversation with a supplier and defend — which is why every assumption behind it is printed on the page.

We are not affiliated with any energy supplier, installer, retailer or trade body. Nothing on this site is a lead-generation form, and no calculator asks who you are before it answers.

What we stand for

  • Independent. No affiliation with any supplier, installer or retailer. No calculator is a disguised quote form.
  • Sourced. Default rates come from published regulator and market data, named on the calculator that uses them.
  • Private. No account, no email capture, and the figures you type never leave your browser.
  • Maintained. Rates are reviewed on a schedule and every calculator shows the date it was last checked.

How we pay for this

Advertising, and nothing else. There is no premium tier, no affiliate commission on the products the calculators mention, and no arrangement under which a supplier can influence a default rate or a recommendation.

That matters because it is the usual failure mode of a comparison site: the “best” option turns out to be the one paying the most per click. If we ever add affiliate links, this page will say so before they appear.

What we are not

We are not a substitute for a quote, a survey or professional advice. An estimate built from typical prices cannot know that your subfloor is uneven, your roof needs replacing first, or your supplier has you on a legacy tariff.

Use these figures to walk into a conversation informed, spot a quote that is wildly out of line, and decide whether a project is worth pursuing at all. Then get a real quote.
